THE CANCEL-THEN-CREATE
METHOD

(Page 12, Chapter 1: Leverage Your Fears)

Fear management is an active process. You’ll encounter your fears again and again. You’ll be called to evoke your firmness of character, and these repeated instances will build your self-assurance, making your courage easier and easier to access.

Each time you feel scared is yet another chance to prove yourself to yourself. When you experience a pervasively distressing, upending memory that’s not serving you, replace it with something positive. Using the Cancel-then-Create method, you’ll generate a much-needed shift in perspective.

This thought process is much like writing an email: You’re typing on your computer, and you commit an error. Instantly, you use the delete button to make a correction. This all happens before you send the respective email to the intended party.

Along this same wavelength, we suggest altering a thought before transmitting it throughout the universe. The energy you emit will reflect your reality.

The Cancel-then-Create method works to redirect encoded information that tends to influence our perspective.

For example, John and his son engage in a disagreement. Reflecting on their rapport, John’s mind instantly serves up another instance where his son retorted with backtalk and lost video game privileges. John then may lament over his perception of their “eroding” relationship, evidenced by this obsessive thought, which stagnates as a contractive, heavier feeling throughout John’s body.

However, instead of focusing on this particularly destructive memory, John can replace it with one that serves his soul and makes him feel content: a time when he and his smiling son were enjoying football on the beach. John then notices his body is lighter and more expansive, allowing him more control of his response and how he interacts with the world around him.

Alternatively, the Cancel-then-Create method helps us to address distress when the world requires us to stand by in discomfort.

For instance, a young pup was admitted for emergency surgery. Jack, her guardian, now waits apprehensively on updates from the veterinarian. Each time Jack senses an anxious thought, he visualizes pulling that particular worry from his mind, transforming it into an expression of love in the shape of a heart, and then sending it off to his canine best friend in intensive care.

How we communicate with ourselves matters. Our self-talk is the foundation that fortifies our self-perseverance.

Notice how a simple change in thought can expand you, serve you, and ultimately raise your vibrations.

Observe your initial thoughts if you like, but don’t automatically believe them. If fear is assaulting you with unhelpful information, use visualization to shift your awareness to the vibrational frequency that serves you best.
